Fin Fest at Jacksonville Beach

I recently went to the Florida Fin Fest and took some pictures of the beautiful sunset. Here are some of my favorite shots!
This first photo is my favorite. The colors are so vibrant and it’s just a really pretty sight.

I also really liked this next photo. The sun was setting behind the trees and it created a really cool effect.

The last photo is of the clouds. I thought they looked really pretty as they were lit up by the sun.

I had a lot of fun taking these photos and I’m really glad I was able to capture the beauty of the sunset. If you ever get a chance to go to the Florida Fin Fest, be sure to take some pictures of the sunset too!

Greencove Springs

Greencove Springs Sunset

I recently had the chance to visit Greencove Springs, Florida and let me tell you, the natural beauty of this place is truly breathtaking. From the moment I arrived, I could feel the relaxed vibe of the town. As I walked around, I noticed the huge live oaks that provide welcome shade on hot days. The Spanish moss hanging from the branches swayed in the slight breeze, creating a hypnotic effect.

But the real showstopper was the sunset. I have never seen such a beautiful sight in my life. The colors were incredible—a deep orange mixed with fiery reds and soothing yellows. It was like looking at a painting come to life. I couldn’t help but snap a few photos to capture the moment.

If you’re ever in Florida, be sure to check out Greencove Springs. You won’t regret it!

There’s nothing quite like experiencing nature’s beauty firsthand. If you ever get the chance to witness a sunset in Greencove Springs, Florida, don’t hesitate—go see it for yourself! You won’t be disappointed.

I got a Mavic 2 Pro for free

I had 3 old Dell R710 servers and a bunch of old NESL 230 watt solar panels.

I got a message from someone on Facebook marketplace interested in making a trade for the servers

He was having trouble selling his DJI Mavic 2 Pro for cash, and after another week of not being able to sell it he was willing to trade.

So I got a full kit of a working drone including 4 batteries, and a 1st generation DJI FPV headset.

I’ve taken it out flying already a couple times and I’m already happy with it.

Even though many of the features were similar to my Mini 2 that I had before the 1″ Hasselblad camera sensor is noticeably better. It also appears to fly faster but the battery really only lasts about 20 minutes.

The two things that really suck about it though compared to the Mini 2 is the DJI remote controller, my phone can hardly fit inside the handle so it’s difficult get setup. Also the battery charger took me 10 minutes to figure out how to plug in the batteries, and there’s no positive locking feature so the batteries can easily fall off.

I could buy a better remote controller but that’d be about $1000 for a compatible controller. So it might actually be better if I just sell this Mavic 2 and get a Mavic 3 or the new DJI Avata.

Anyways I traded 3 Dell servers and 4 of my old solar panels for a working $1500 professional drone.

Laika Astronaut Dog

Laika the rocket dog

Laika was a space dog who became one of the first animals in space, and the first animal to orbit the Earth. Laika was a stray mongrel from the streets of Moscow, selected to be the occupant of the Soviet spacecraft Sputnik 2 that was launched into low orbit on 3 November 1957. No capacity for her recovery and survival was planned, and she died of overheating. Laika’s story is a sad one, but her legacy is an important one. She paved the way for future space exploration and helped to advance scientific knowledge. She will always be remembered as a brave pioneer who made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of science. I made a short video memorializing her sacrifice.

Helium Miner

Layer Zero Update

I installed a Layer Zero helium miner and not even a year later they have stopped sending my payments.

It’s not because the antenna hasn’t been working I’ve maintained and monitored it, but the company just has stopped distributing payments.

There’s plenty of people on social media and tiktok saying that you’ll get $1000’s of dollars for installing one of these antennas, I’ve barely gotten $400 this year.

I’m here to tell you it isn’t worth it, you either pay $1000 for an antenna and get 100% of the profits but it takes more than a year to return your investment.

Or you rent/lease an antenna where they send you the antenna for free and then send you a portion of the payment you mine like 40%.

I chose the latter to reduce my risk, I still had to get up on the top of my second story roof and install the antenna and run the cable down the side of the house.
